Djorn Buchholz, CEO of the NSC Minnesota Stars, was left frustrated whilst watching the 2011 UEFA Champions League in downtown Minneapolis, due to the game being difficult to watch because of the split screen storm coverage from KMSP FOX 9. He therefore proposed an idea to invite Fox 9's Ian Leonard, who was the meteorologist for the channel that day, to attend an NSC Minnesota Stars match against FC Edmonton and be placed over a dunk tank to raise money for American Red Cross to help victims of the North Minneapolis tornado.
